The London Sky Pool connects two 10 story apartment buildings. It is 82 feet long and 10 feet deep. It uses glass 8 inches thick to contain all the water.

A new apartment complex in the Nine Elms district of London will feature a swimming pool linking the two towers of the Embassy Gardens development. The London Sky Pool will be 82 feet long and 10 feet deep. Nervous swimmers should feel comforted to know that the 10 story high pool will be 8 inches thick. That’s about seven times thicker than the bulletproof glass you might find at your local bank.

Ballymore Group, the development firm overseeing the project, brought in aquarium architects to help design the sky high natatorium. “The experience of the pool will be truly unique,” the CEO of Ballymore Group, Sean Mulryan, said in a statement to Quartz. “It will feel like floating through the air in central London.”
